KUCHING: A Singaporean media team is in town to visit and savour the lifestyle and places of interests as well as local cuisine over five days in the city.
They comprise five Singaporean media representatives from a lifestyle magazine and QOL Digital and two officials from the Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office, Sarawak (STATOS).
“The media delegates’ familiarisation trip to Kuching this time around is part of our efforts to promote the places of interests in Kuching City as well as its local cuisine and delicacies,” said STATOS deputy chief executive officer Putrie Rozana Suraya to reporters upon arrival on Sunday.
“With the reopening of the borders after two years, we want to promote as much of Kuching and Sarawak in general, to Singaporeans and to introduce new tourism packages to them,” she said.
Putrie added that the media representatives will explore the Food Trail in Kuching, enjoy kayaking in Bengoh as well as cycle within the city.
“In June, we will bring another group from Singapore to enjoy the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWWMF) in Kuching and the Borneo Jazz Festival in Miri.
“In July, we will also be hosting another group from Singapore for trade and business events,” Putrie disclosed.
Meanwhile, one of the media representatives, William Tan, a content creator with his own blogging site said this visit was his second to Kuching.
“For sure, I am very excited to be back here and getting to travel again after two long years due to the travel restrictions. I am planning to blog about my experiences here and, ya, I am very excited about that as well,” he said.
