BAU: News about a sports arena to be built in Bau is great news for the community here.
Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said that he is confident about Bau having a sports arena, but for now the people just have to wait for the official announcement by the Chief Minister himself.
“Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will announce the amount for the sports arena and I am optimistic about it,” he said in a press conference during his Christmas open house at his residence Bung Konis, in KampungTanjong Bowang here yesterday.
Henry also revealed that the sports arena is going to be built on a 10-acre land.
“The sports arena will include sports facilities such as futsal, badminton, tennis, muaythai, and also a swimming pool,” he said.
He also shared that other facilities included are a clubhouse, meeting rooms, restaurant and hostel.
Meanwhile, he also said the tender for the RM7.5 million Bau District Complex has been handed over on Friday and construction is expected to begin early next year.
“The construction of the bridge from Musi to Buso costing RM17 million is also
going to start anytime soon,” he added.
“We are going to do more not only for Tasik Biru alone, but the whole of Bau for the benefit of the community here,” he said.
He said in efforts to make Bau a must visit spot, there is a need to have good and clean water system, more road access and clean public facilities.
“There is already one hotel in Bau, and I am very happy to see such development.
“And to boost the tourism here there is a need to organise more events and programmes so that the community can benefit from the tourism economic activities.”
