SIBU: Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) will be organising a collection drive for the trade/bulk refuse in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.

Council chairman, Sempurai Petrus Ngelai said the collection will begin from February 7 in the area of Sungai Assan, Kerto, Kampung Banyok, Pradom, Jalan Tg Kunyit, Jalan Kong Yit Khim, Taman Hwei Huong and Jalan Nibong-Tada.

“On February 8, the collection will be held at the area of Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman, Taman Jade Villa, Taman Priemview, Jalan Durin Link, Taman Sunhill, Jalan Ng Pak, Telian, Durin Bazaar, Jalan KJDDurin, Jalan KJD until Batu Wong.”

“On February 9 to 10, the collection will be held at the area of Sibu Jaya residential area, Sibu Jaya township, Sibu Jaya Flat, Taman Crystal, Taman Pearl Avenue, Taman Terrace/Town Villa and Sibu Jaya industrial area,” he said. He announced this at a press conference held at SRDC office, Level 18, Wisma Sanyan yesterday.

He added that SRDC will held the collection for the trade/bulk refuse on February 11 to 12 at the area of Jalan Kwong Ming, Jalan Kwong Ting, Jalan Ting Sing, Jalan Hock Ming, Jalan Sg Maaw, Jalan Sg Sadit, Jalan Chew Kung, Ensurai, Empawah, Bukit Lan, Lebaan, Jalan Ling Chu Ming and Bawang Assan.

“On February 13, the collection will be held at the area of Jalan Engkalat, Rantau Panjang, Rantau Panjang Flat, Jalan Trusan and along the Pasai road.”

“While on February 14, the collection will be held at the area of Jalan Ulu Oya starting from Batu 8 until Selangau Bazaar, Taman Satria, Taman Bumi Indah, Taman Green Park and Taman Bougenvilla, Stapang and Selangau.”

“Meanwhile on February 15, the collection will take place at Jalan Kemuyang, Taman Kaland, Taman Pine Seduan, Taman Kenari, and Taman Desa Kemuyang,” he said. “The MDLBS will only collect garbage such as broken furniture, damaged equipment or home appl iances, damaged electrical appliances and so on.” “But it does not include waste from gardens, industries, factories, sawmills, ‘workshops’ and others.”

“All the residents or occupants are required to keep litter off the road, in an appropriate place before the date of collection of such waste to facilitate collection by the SRDC / contractors,” he said. Meanwhile, Sempurai said the collection on February 21 will be held at the Sibu Jaya Residential area, Sibu Jaya township, Sibu Jaya flat, Taman Crystal, Taman Pearl Avenue, Taman Terrace/Town Villa and Sibu Jaya industrial area.
