SIMANGGANG: Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development, Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, highlighted the potential of youth in Sri Aman to excel in various sports.

He cited inspirational athletes like bodybuilder Buda Anchah and Muay Thai fighter Daeloniel McDelon Bong, better known as Kilat Boy, who have achieved international recognition in their fields.

“So, it is not impossible for us to produce champions in sports such as badminton, basketball, volleyball and so on internationally,” he said while officiating the Simanggang Indoor Badminton Clinic for 12 Years and Under (12TKB) at the Sri Aman Sports Complex Indoor Stadium.

Harden commended the Simanggang Badminton Club for their dedication to attracting young participants to the clinic, expressing hope that the efforts would produce potential athletes to represent the state and country.

The clinic, which spans two months, aims to develop talented badminton players and provide early exposure to proper techniques for children as young as 12, nurturing and honing their skills to excel in the sport.
