KUCHING: The Sarawak Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) is working closely with the government authorities in regards to the three rabies cases that occurred in the Serian District, recently.
According to its president, Datin Dona Drury-Wee, they went to the affected villages and engaged with the community there.
“We also had a meeting the State Health Department, Sarawak Veterinary Association, local councils, and other relevant representatives, recently.
“We are actively seeking advice from our international partners who have experience in handling rabies outbreaks.
“They are willing to come in should the state requires their services,” she said through a statement via text message yesterday.
Three children from Serian District were recently infected with rabies and are still in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the Sarawak General Hospital here.
