MIRI: The St Joseph’s School Alumni Association donated 51 food baskets to low-income families of SK St Joseph students on Thursday (Oct 14).

St Joseph Miri alumni advisor Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin, who is also Sarawak Transport Minister, said the donation was welcomed by all sections of the community in an effort to help B40 families in facing the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The food baskets consist of dry food such as 10kg rice, biscuits, noodles, cooking oil and so on.

“The donation is very meaningful for the families as many of them have been affected in terms of income.

“I would like to convey my thanks to the alumni for willing to provide assistance to the parents of students of this school.

“Thank you too to St Joseph’s Cathedral Miri for allowing use of its site to complete this simple programme,” he said after the handover ceremony.
