KUCHING: St. Joseph’s Private School will be embarking on a new building extension project to enhance its campus and provide students with a number of new state-of-the-art facilities.
In a press release it said the expansion marks a significant milestone in its commitment to delivering a holistic and enriching educational experience.
“The new extension will include a variety of modern facilities, including a multipurpose hall, a resource centre and library, modern learning spaces as well as labs, a music room and a dance room.
“A more spacious canteen area is also in the cards to provide for a more comfortable space for students to eat and rest,” it said.
The school added that the new facilities are also designed to serve the broader community.
“The multipurpose halls, activity rooms, and open spaces will be available for community events, workshops, and other activities, strengthening the bond between the school and its community.
“It is hoped that this new extension will help the school to continue to provide “Education Beyond the Ordinary” to the students,” it added.
In a related development, the school received a grant from the state government via the Unit for Other Religions (Unifor).
The grant is for a school extension that will benefit both St Joseph’s Private Primary School and St Joseph’s Private Secondary School.
While on a visit to the school, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, Minister of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, Deputy Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting and Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman witnessed the presentation of a cheque for RM5 million to the school.
It was received by its chief executive officer Christopher Chua.
