SIBU: An array of stage entertainment programmes and exciting lucky draws will add vibrancy to the Mid-Autumn Festival celebration at the open field adjacent to the N51 Bukit Assek Service Centre on Lorong 1, Jalan Tong Sang here today.
Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bukit Assek chairman Datuk Chieng Buong Toon said that the annual event, organised in collaboration between the SUPP Bukit Assek branch and the N51 Bukit Assek Service Centre commences at 6.30 pm.
“We are delighted to offer five grand prizes and 42 hampers to the lucky draw winners. The grand prizes comprise a refrigerator, followed by a washing machine, mobile phone, microwave oven, and an electric rice cooker.
“Please note that lucky draw winners must personally collect their prizes, as representatives will not be accommodated,” he said in a press conference here recently.
He went on to anticipate the participation of over 1,000 attendees at the celebration.
“We extend a warm invitation to the public to join us and receive mooncakes as souvenirs, distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, for Sibu residents.
“We also plan to distribute 200 lanterns to children under 12 years old, also on a first-come, first-served basis,” he added.
Chieng said that local violinist, Imran Azim Iskandar has been cordially invited to perform during the programme.
This Form 5 student from SMK Bukit Assek recently made Malaysia proud by securing a gold medal and achieving the title of world champion in the Classic category at the World Performing Arts Championship held in Anaheim, California, the United States.
