KUCHING: The Stampin Service Centre has allocated RM100,800 for SK Laksamana here to facilitate the installation of smart TVs.
Stampin MP Chong Chieng Jen said this initiative is part of the service centre’s programme aimed at digitising the teaching process in schools and supporting the teachers in conducting their classes.
During a visit to SK Laksamana on Monday (Nov 13), he handed over the allocation, and stressed the importance of exposing students to new technology in their learning process.
“The use of smart TVs in classes will also make learning in schools more enjoyable and easier to absorb,” he said in a statement.
He noted that SK Laksamana has 89 special needs students, 168 normal students, and 25 pre-school students.
Chong expressed gratitude to the teachers for their dedication in conducting special classes and hopes that the provision of smart TVs will facilitate the teaching process.
“Teaching special students requires not only special training but also enormous patience and skills. The government should provide additional resources and funding to develop facilities for the education of these special students,” he added.
Chong’s assistants, namely Michael Kong, Sim Kiat Leng and Jordan Soo, were also present during the handover.
