KUCHING: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) Sarawak has called on Sarawakians to stand firm behind Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yasin and Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg along with the PN government.
The party Youth Wing (Armada) chief Alexander Frusis said this was to ensure Sarawakians to continually enjoy continuous development from both the federal and state governments.
He said this during a handover ceremony of cash crops, organised by Bersatu Bintulu Division in collaboration with the party Armada and Srikandi Bersatu Bintulu Division in Bintulu recently. He was representing Bersatu Sarawak chairman Jaziri Alkaf Abdillah Suffian.
On a separate issue, Frusis brushed aside accusations by some parties, labelling Bersatu Sarawak as an opposition party in the state.
“Bersatu’s presence in the state is not to create disputes or to consider the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) as an opponent in politics. That is far from it.
“In fact, we are here to offer more sustainable welfare services to the people of Sarawak — especially those in the people in the rural areas. After all, Bersatu and GPS are working hand-in-hand at the federal level,” he added.
Earlier, at the same ceremony, Bersatu Sarawak Bintulu Division information chief, Deputy Lieutenant (R) Duke Janteng handed over various food rations worth RM57,000 to the rural residents in Kemena constituency.
