KUCHING: Starbucks will change its business to “to-go” model across Malaysia starting today to encourage social distancing to help contain Covid-19.
In a press statement yesterday, the company said that more people have called for increased social distancing to help stop the spread of the disease.
“We want a safe environment for our customers to get access to our products. We are stopping the use of all seats. However, drive-thru lanes and delivery via Grab Food and Foodpanda will still be open. And customers can still order at the counter, but for takeaways only,” the company stated.
Starbucks will also clean and sanitise all its stores, and get its partners to wash their hands frequently.
“In the coming weeks we will continue to monitor the situation closely and act quickly on the advice of the health authorities.
“This may mean you may see things that look a little different in our stores as we take additional precautions, and we appreciate your patience and your support as customers,” the company added.
