KUCHING: Anticipation for the 21st Malaysia Games (SUKMA) is building up as more state contingents make their way to Sarawak.

Johor was the first to arrive on Monday (Aug 12), with its 49-strong contingent landing at Kuching International Airport (KIA) in the morning.

The group includes 24 wushu exponents and 25 cyclists.

Shortly after, Perak’s contingent touched down with 30 athletes and officials. Eight divers and 22 wushu exponents are in the team.

Melaka followed suit in the afternoon, bringing 39 athletes and officials. The state is represented by 24 wushu athletes and 15 tenpin bowlers.

Selangor also arrived earlier in the day, with a 17-member wushu team.

Perak’s cycling team, comprising six athletes and officials, is expected to arrive later today.

Other states set to arrive today include Sabah, Kelantan, the Federal Territories, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Perlis, Pahang, Terengganu, and Penang.
