KUCHING: The state Barisan Nasional (BN) government will provide allocations to its Members of Parliament (MP) for development in their respective constituency.
According to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi (Dr) Abang Johari Tun Openg, each BN MP would receive an annual allocation of RM1 million for Minor Rural Project (MRP) and RM5 million for the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) from the state government.
He added the MPs also would receive RM250,000 annually in order to run their service centres.
It is learnt that the state BN government is forking out allocation funds to its MPs as they were now in the opposition at federal level. State BN has 19 MPs after the recently-concluded general election.
