KUCHING: The Sarawak Foundation has contributed RM2 million to the State Disaster Fund.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg received a cheque for the amount in his office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.
The cheque was presented by Sarawak Foundation director Mersal Abang Rosli and witnessed by its deputy chairman Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Marzuki.
“This contribution is one of Sarawak Foundation’s corporate social responsibilities in helping the state government manage the Covid-19 pandemic which is still plaguing the country.
“Although education is our main focus, this contribution is also the responsibility of Sarawak Foundation to help the state government ease the financial burden and to some extent be able to contribute to the people affected by Covid-19 in the state,” said Mersal after the handover ceremony.
