KUCHING: All state civil servants and federal civil servants in the state will receive special financial assistance under the just-approved 2022 State Budget.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg announced that the state civil servants will receive one and a half months’ aid while federal civil servants will receive RM500 each.
“The assistance is given in appreciation of the services rendered by the civil servants in managing the government’s machinery, especially in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Also, not to forget, federal civil servants in Sarawak will be getting RM500 as an appreciation of the state government for their contribution in prospering the state,” he said.
The chief minister announced this in a press conference after attending a special meeting on the State Budget 2022 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) on Tuesday (Oct 12).
Earlier, Abang Johari said Sarawak had allocated RM10.646 billion for the 2022 State Budget, of which RM4.046 billion would be for operating expenditure while RM6.6 billion would be appropriated for the Development Fund Account to finance the implementation of various development programmes and projects.
