State government donates RM50,000 to fire incident fund

KUCHING: The Chief Minister has launched a fundraising following the fire incident at SK Batu Bungan, Miri on July 25, 2018.

In a press statement issued by the State Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Research here yesterday, it was revealed that the State government has contributed RM50,000 to the fund.

“The Sarawak State Government feels deeply at by the fire incident at SK Batu Bungan on 25 July 2018, that has claimed the life of one of our teachers, the late Catherine Janet Tiwi and injured Nur Syuhada Azrani and Siti Masrina Nian,” said the statement.

The members of the public are welcome to contribute to the fund.

The fund will be channeled through the Tabung Perayaan Hari Guru Negeri Sarawak which will be managed by the Director of the Sarawak State Education Department.

All contributions shall be deposited into Malayan Banking Berhad, account number 111271007648.

“We express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to the members of the public for your contribution,” concluded the statement.
