KUCHING: This year’s Sarawak Civil Service (SCS) Day celebration will be held on December 4 from 9am here at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).
The ceremony’s guest-of-honour Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg will be presenting various awards and recognition to honour civil servants for their excellent achievements over the past one year.
The awards are the State Civil Service Quality (Akpans) with 26 recipients and the Civil Service Day Exemplary Officer with eight recipients from both state and federal departments.
More than 5,000 members of the state and federal civil service, statutory bodies and government-linked companies (GLCs) as well as those from non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and private sectors have been invited to the annual event.
The theme for this year’s celebration is ‘Excellent Service Delivery through Integrity and Professionalism’ which emphasises on the state’s service delivery to the people.
The ceremony will start off with the guest-of-honour’s arrival in an accompaniment of the state civil service song performed by a choir.
Abang Johari’s arrival will precede a video presentation entitled ‘Aspirasi Rakyat’, just before a speech by State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion.
The first part of the video presentation will be on the people’s perspective on various development agendas ― infrastructures, government online services, rural schools, water grid, Sarawak Alternative Rural Electrification Scheme (Sares), Native Customary Rights (NCR), Talikhidmat (helpline), Sarawak Pay and others.
The next clip will highlight the civil servants’ perspectives on digital transformation, clips from high-performance team, SCS achievements 2019 and delivery, integrity clips and events, Certified Integrity Officer (CEIO) graduation and 2020 Budget.
The state secretary will lead an integrity oath by the civil servants after the video presentation.
During the ceremony, Abang Johari will also launch the Pengurusan Tatatertib (Behavioural Management) manual, SCS-Learning Management System, mySCS mobile app and E-Lasis.
The celebration will also feature exhibitions by Sarawak Leadership Institute on Learning Management System and Sarawak Pay to showcase the state’s digital strategies.
