LAWAS: Limbang and Lawas are on the cusp of joining the state electricity grid as new airport and port projects gain momentum.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan reaffirmed this commitment to equitable development, ensuring that benefits extend to all regions, including urban, suburban, and rural areas.

“The upcoming infrastructure projects, including a new airport and port, are anticipated to commence by the end of the year.

“Concurrently, plans are underway to connect Limbang and Lawas to the state electricity grid.

Additionally, efforts to advance the Northern Coastal Highway are progressing, with the first phase of the Sarawak Link Road already completed and work towards the Indonesia border underway,” he said during the Mooncake Festival Lawas 2024, organised by the Lawas Chinese Cultural Association at Lawas Arena on Sunday (Sept 15).

During the event, he announced a RM50,000 contribution, while Lawas MP Datuk Henry Sum Agong added RM10,000 to support the association.
