State makes good on promise of Jepak grants

BINTULU: A total of RM80,000 in Special Allocation Grants has been presented to 16 associations under the Jepak constituency.

The grant presentation ceremony was held here Sunday (July 21), with Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan delivering the grants to their representatives.

He said these grants were promised during the Jepak by-election on Nov 4 last year.

He highlighted that the grants are intended to enhance community development through infrastructure and community development.

“With a budget of RM5 million for the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) and RM2 million for the Special Allocation Grant, this initiative will continue as long as we can increase the incomes of our residents.

“This effort, driven by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg through revenue re-engineering, aims to implement development projects such as roads, infrastructure, water and electricity supply, scheduling systems, and telecommunications,” he said.

He expressed hope that the grants would benefit the community significantly.

“I hope these funds will be used effectively to carry out activities that will provide significant benefits to society.

“We must continue to provide strong support for these initiatives to collectively advance Sarawak’s development,” he added.

Among the recipients were Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) Rh Sait Ak Jaya, Rh Meluda Ak Bakat, Rh Lidam Ak Jayan, Rh Raphael Ngau, Rh Saong Ak Jelani, Rh Chundi Ak Mawat, Rh Fabian Jembu, Rh Entering Ak Manja, and Rh Linang Ak Asin.

Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Jepak, SK Kuala Tatau, Wanita Kg Warisan Jepak, Persatuan Kebudayaan Zikir Wanita Kpg, Biro Wanita Rumah Layuh Ak Muyang, PPWS Daerah Bintulu, and KRT PPR Bandaria, also received the allocation.

Also present at the ceremony were Ministry of International Trade, Industry, and Investment adviser Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais and Jepak assemblyman Iskandar Turkee.
