KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 137 new Covid-19 cases on Saturday (Nov 27), seven cases fewer than the previous day’s 144 cases. This brings the cumulative Covid-19 cases in Sarawak thus far to 250,366 cases.
The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said 135 of the total number of cases comprised Categories 1 and 2 while two were of Categories 3 and 5.
Kuching accounted for the highest number of cases at 45 followed by Miri (16); Lawas (14); Sibu (nine); Limbang (eight); Serian (seven); Samarahan (six); Bintulu and Lundu (five each); Bau (four).
Three cases were each recorded in Song, Mukah, and Kapit while Daro and Dalat recorded two cases each.
Meanwhile, Sri Aman, Bukit Mabong, Matu, Julau, and Sebauh reported one case each.
The SDMC also announced two fatalities in Kuching district.
“The death on Nov 24 involved a 78-year-old man who had a history of Parkinson while the death recorded on Nov 26 was that of a 45-year-old woman who needed help in her daily life.
“Both victims passed away at Sarawak General Hospital,” it said.
