State records 325 new cases

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 325 new COVID-19 cases during Epid (epidemiological) Week 24, which showed a slight increase from Epid Week 23 with 267 cases.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) weekly report released yesterday, Kuching remained the state’s most affected district during Epid Weeks 24 and 23, with 104 and 96 cases respectively.

In Epid Week 24, Sibu (58 cases); Miri (46), Bintulu (30), Serian (16), Samarahan (13), and Limbang (11) were among the districts that saw double-digit cases.

The remaining districts with zero positive cases in Epid Week 24 were Dalat, Kabong, Beluru, Telang Usan, Song, Simunjan, Lundu, Daro, Pusa, Tanjung Manis, Matu, and Bukit Mabong.

This took the cumulative cases to 307,317 in Epid Week 24 from 306,992 in Epid Week 23.

Meanwhile, in Epid Week 24, there was one death recorded from Sibu while the previous week also recorded one death from Bintulu.
