KUCHING: Sarawak recorded a total of 443 COVID-19 cases during the 42nd epidemiology (epid) week, a slight increase compared to 424 cases during the 41st epid week.
Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its weekly COVID-19 update, said of the total number of cases reported during the 42nd epid week, 430 cases were in categories one and two while 13 cases were in categories three, four, and five.
The committee said a COVID-19 related death was also recorded in the 42nd epid week.
On the total number of COVID-19 cases recorded, SDMC said Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 152, followed by Sibu (76), Miri (53), Bintulu (27), Sarikei (18), Samarahan (14), Bau (14), Mukah (11), Serian (nine) and Sri Aman (eight).
Meanwhile, four cases were recorded in Simunjan and Song; three cases in Julau, Matu, and Daro and two cases each in Subis, Kanowit, Asajaya and Beluru.
Meanwhile, one case each was recorded in Meradong, Lawas, Betong, Pusa and Telang Usan.
