State records six new community clusters

KUCHING: Sarawak on Monday (Sept 13) recorded six new community clusters said the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

The first cluster, the Sungai Kerubong cluster, involved a longhouse at Sungai Serubong, Selalang in the Sarikei district.

“Of the 121 individuals who were tested, 96 including the index case were positive while 25 were negative.

“All positive cases were admitted to the Sarikei Hospital and Covid-19 quarantine and low-risk treatment centre (PKRC) in the Sarikei district,” said the committee.

The second cluster, the Sungai Sujan Mapok cluster, involved a longhouse which was placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) at Sungai Sujan Mapok in the Sebauh district.

“Of the 45 individuals who were tested, 12 including the index case were positive while 33 were negative.

“All positive cases were admitted to the Bintulu Hospital and the PKRC in the Bintulu district,” added the SDMC.

The third cluster, the Sungai Dabai cluster, involved a longhouse located at the Sungai Dabai area in the Pakan district.

“Of the 63 individuals who were tested, 55 including the index case were positive while seven were negative.

“All positive cases were brought to the Sarikei Hospital and the PKRC under it for isolation and further treatment,” said the committee.

The fourth cluster, the Andi Liam cluster, involved a longhouse at Lepong Ajai, Sungai Liam in the Beluru district.

“Of the 104 individuals who were tested, 29 including the index case were positive while 18 were negative. All positive cases were brought to the Miri Hospital and the PKRC under it for further treatment and isolation,” added the SDMC.

The fifth cluster, the Pulau Brunei cluster, involved a longhouse in the Pulau Brunei area in the Limbang district.

Of the 36 individuals who were tested, 33 including the index case were positive while three were negative.

All positive cases were admitted to the Limbang Hospital and the PKRC under it for further treatment and isolation.

The sixth and last cluster, the Tinwar Keleku cluster, involved a longhouse which was placed under the EMCO at Sungai Keleku, Niah area in the Subis district.

Of the 50 individuals who were tested, 34 including the index case were positive while 13 were negative. All positive cases were brought to the Miri Hospital and the PKRC under it for further treatment and isolation.

Meanwhile, the committee also announced the end of four clusters, namel, the Kampung Kendaie cluster and the Pandan cluster in the Lundu district; the Sessang cluster in the Kabong distric and the Central Park Batu Tiga cluster in the Kuching district after no new cases were recorded there in the last 28 days.

Of the137 active clusters in Sarawak, 22 clusters recorded 304 new cases today.
