State registers slight dip in Covid-19 cases

KUCHING: Sarawak recorded a total of 326 COVID-19 cases during the 27th epidemiology (epid) week, nine fewer than the 335 cases reported during the 26th epidemiology week.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its weekly COVID-19 update said the new cases brings the cumulative COVID-19 cases in the state to 308,332.

It said during the 27th epid week, 318 cases were in Category One and Two, while eight cases were in Category Three, Four, and Five.

The committee said in the same period, Kuching recorded the highest number of cases at 137, followed by Miri (60), Sibu (43), Bintulu (21), Samarahan (14), Sarikei (eight), and Limbang (five), Kapit (five).

Four cases were reported in Bau and Lundu, three each in Serian, Simunjan and Meradong, two each in Dalat, Kanowit, Sri Aman, Lundu, and Asajaya, and one each in Tebedu, Tatau, Selangau, Marudi, Beluru, and Pakan.

SDMC said three new COVID-19 deaths were reported during the 27th epid week, two of them in Sibu and one in Miri.
