KUCHING: Sarawak recorded 19 new COVID-19 positive cases today (Thursday).
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the cumulative total number of cases now stood at 252,443.
“Kuching topped the list of new cases with 10, two each in Miri and Lawas, and one each in Bintulu, Song, Samarahan, Telang Usan and Subis,” SDMC said, adding that no death cases, as well as clusters, were reported today.
SDMC also said four compound notices were issued to errant individuals for failing to comply with the COVID-19 standard operating procedures. This brings the total amount of compounds issued to 12, 829.
The committee added that the Public Health Ministry and the Ministry of Local Government and Housing have prepared the standard operating procedures for the economic sectors under their jurisdiction whereby it’s still in accordance with Phases 3 and 4 which allow businesses to operate until 12 midnight.
Meanwhile, there are currently 726 hotspots and the Fire and Rescue Department has carried out 10,403 operations in the state.
A total of 332 individuals are undergoing quarantine while 162,481 have been discharged.
