DARO: Sarawak government has plans to create a new source of revenue for the state through the Daro district.
Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg said that the new economic plan for the constituency might put the place on par with Emirates.
However, Abang Johari refuses to disclose any detail on the new economy source as it is still in the early stages of planning.
“I don’t want to reveal it yet, but I will announce it when it happens.
“A new source of revenue will come from this area. Not that I want to hide it, but let me manage it first and turn this place into a new source of revenue for Sarawak.
“This new source might turn this place into the Emirates. That is my hint for you.
“I will try my best to work on it, and I hope everyone will work together (give support) with me in this,” he said when officiating at the new Petros Station in Daro today (March 19).
Meanwhile, during a press conference held after the ceremony, the premier said that with the new infrastructure built along the Rajang Delta Development Agency (RADDA) area, it will further open up and develop the Rajang area.
\”This (development of infrastructure) will open up the surrounding areas, which have potential in terms of agriculture, shipping, and the fisheries sector.
“If our economy soars under the supervision of the RADDA, then it will create more economic sectors that will be abundant for the people,” he explained.
Abang Johari added that the Sarawak government will continue to resolve the water supply issue in Daro as it is not only important for the people but also for the development of the area when they pursue to develop all the sectors in the future.
