SELANGAU: Political stability in Sarawak is an essential element that should be preserved and maintained by the people in the state.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that this stability enabled the state government to execute various policies and development programmes that directly benefitted the people.

“In a stable political environment, we can more effectively and consistently plan and implement projects in the infrastructure, education, health and economic sectors.

“This demonstrates the Sarawak government’s dedication to ensuring the well-being and prosperity of its people,” he said.

Uggah said in his text of speech read by Selangau MP Edwin Banta during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Selangau Carnival at the Selangau New Township on Sunday (July 28).

Uggah, who is also the Bukit Saban assemblyman, said the Sarawak government’s hope was to see more cooperation and synergy among the community in various sectors.

“With unity and close cooperation, Sarawak can achieve greater success and bring more significant progress to the state,” he said.
