KUCHING: Sarawak is steadfast in its pursuit of new technologies, focusing particularly on the hydrogen industry, according to Deputy Minister for Energy and Environmental Sustainability, Datuk Dr. Hazland Abang Hipni.
He emphasised the global recognition Sarawak was garnering for renewable energy, thanks to its strategic policies.
“Sarawak is on the right track in producing hydrogen by utilising green energy.
“Every country can produce hydrogen if they have water and a power source to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. However, the type of energy used is crucial. In Sarawak, we use green sources like hydro, solar, and wind. This sets us apart from countries that may lack green energy options,” he said when attending Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House at Kesuma Resort here on Saturday.
The event was attended by approximately 2000 guests from various ethnic backgrounds, featuring a range of delicacies.
Also present were Batu Kitang assemblyman Datuk Ir Lo Khere Chiang and Tanjong Datu assemblyman, Azizul Annuar Adenan.
