KUCHING: The Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) is participating in Singapore’s top consumer travel fair, popularly known as the National Association of Travel Agents Singapore (NATAS) Holidays 2024.

In a press statement, STB chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor expressed her excitement about showcasing Sarawak’s unique offerings at the upcoming NATAS Holidays 2024.

“Join the STB at its booth 4H35 of the Singapore Expo from 16 to 18 August during the NATAS Holidays 2024 to experience Sarawakian-style fun and discover the wonders of Sarawak,” she said.

“Visitors can look forward to discovering the breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and delectable cuisines that make Sarawak a must-visit destination,” she added.

By participating in NATAS 2024, STB aims to promote Sarawak as a premier travel destination, highlighting its unique wide variety of cultures, adventure, nature, food, and festivals (CANFF).

“Besides that, it is also an opportunity to create awareness of Sarawak’s cultural and natural attractions while engaging directly with potential travellers, travel agents, and other industry stakeholders,” she said.

At NATAS Holidays 2024, Sarawak will present exclusive tour packages specifically for Singaporean travellers and highlight the two UNESCO World Heritage sites in Sarawak.

The package includes the Sarawak Delta Geopark, Bako National Park, and Semenggoh Nature Reserve, where visitors can explore unique geological formations and diverse wildlife, including the proboscis monkey and fairy rock gecko.

Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, is also the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy with over 34 ethnic groups.

Sarawak’s culinary scene has flourished, and visitors can experience authentic and various local cuisines.

The World Crafts Council also recognises Kuching as a World Craft City, allowing visitors to explore traditional crafts that highlight the region’s rich cultural tapestry.

Other showcases for NATAS 2024 include daily cultural dance performances at 4 pm, featuring six major ethnic groups: Iban, Bidayuh, Malay, Chinese, Melanau, and Orang Ulu.

Another exciting programme lined up will be a Sape performance by the Orang Ulu which is an integral part of Sarawak’s musical heritage.

Tattoo artists will also showcase their work of art by providing temporary tattoos for tattoo enthusiasts.

STB is dedicated to promoting tourism growth, building strong relationships, and enhancing the overall visitor experience in Sarawak, ultimately boosting tourist arrivals and driving economic benefits for the region.
