KUCHING: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) has launched a Global Sia Sitok Vacations campaign to attract visitors from all over the world.
The campaign, which will run from May 1 to July 16 this year, will offer 147 promotional packages through the EnjoySarawak App, involving 51 merchants, for non-Sarawakians and foreigners.
The app provides a comprehensive guide to Sarawak’s attractions, accommodation, restaurants, tour operators, healthcare as well as spa and wellness operators, making it easier for visitors to plan their trip and maximise their experience.
Organised by the STB in collaboration with the Malaysian Association of Hotels, the campaign is an expansion of the highly successful “Sia Sitok Sarawak” intra and inter-state travel campaign introduced in 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic.
STB Chief Executive Officer Sharzede Salleh Askor said the campaign is an important effort to continue to boost the number of visitors to Sarawak and showcase the region’s offerings in line with the “Sarawak…Now More Than Ever” travel campaign.
“We are thrilled to introduce Sarawak to the world through our homegrown brand Sia Sitok Sarawak in the form of Global Sia Sitok Vacations, an important campaign to continue to boost the number of visitors to Sarawak.
“With the success of the previous ‘Sia Sitok Sarawak” and “Sia Sitok Sarawak Accommodation’ campaigns, we target 9,000 visitors during the period, contributing to our effort to welcome three million visitors to Sarawak in 2023,” she said in a statement.
Visitors from West Malaysia, Sabah and from everywhere around the globe can download and redeem a RM100 e-Voucher from the EnjoySarawak App, which is available on Android and IOS platforms, and can use a single voucher per transaction.
The Global Sia Sitok Vacations Campaign is an opportunity for participating tourism businesses in Sarawak to attract more visitors to the state and promote their offerings.
The campaign aims to drive growth in both medium and long-haul markets, with continuous presence and visibility.
In addition, the 26th edition of the Rainforest World Music Festival will take place at Sarawak Cultural Village from June 23 to 25.
Music lovers can take the opportunity to grab the travel vouchers and attend the festival to enjoy quality music from an array of international and local performers.
