SANTUBONG: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) has every intention to capitalise on Kuching’s recognition as a Creative City of Gastronomy in the world.
STB Chief Executive Officer Sharzede Salleh Askor said, as a product marketing and promotion platform that has agencies and branches for the industry, the board is committed to promoting Sarawak products further.
“Therefore, when we go abroad, we should try and find gastronomic festival activities available in that area.
“It is so that we can combine our activities and empower marketing and promotion activities in Sarawak,” she said in a press conference after the launch of Brahim’s Outdoor Programme in East Malaysia at The Feeding Cafe, Permai Rainforest Resort, today (Nov 26).
At the same time, Sharzede praised the initiative implemented by the Brahim by launching the programme for the first time in Sarawak.
She hoped that in cooperation with Brahim’s Dewina Company, they would be able to successfully release Sarawak brand food packs to a wider market.
“It definitely involves cooperation not only in the field of food but also in terms of sustainability.
“As you know, STB strongly supports the field of sustainability in Sarawak,” she said.
At the same time, Brahim’s Dewina Group Executive Chairman Datuk Seri Ibrahim Ahmad said they are looking forward to cooperate together with STB and the state government in promoting local brand food packs.
“It will be interesting to see how we will do to promote the local brand, not only to whole of Malaysia, but hopefully we can market the local product together through more collaborations and cooperation,” he said.
