MUKAH: Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg has reminded Muslims to adhere to the teachings of the Quran and use them as living guides in their daily lives.
He said the Quran contained verses or ‘sunnah’ on the teachings and practices of Prophet Muhammad that Muslims should know and use as their guiding light.
The chief minister also encouraged Muslims to be wise in their decisions, especially in determining their way of life and to remember that every transformation required some changes.
“The changes must be able to liberate the minds and the mentality of Muslims to be more dynamic, innovative and decisive in their actions while remaining disciplined,” he said at the state-level Nuzul Al-Quran 2019 at Masjid Setia Raja Mukah here yesterday.
As true Muslims, he said, they should turn to the Quran as the only source of reference to solve all problems.
He said although Malaysia had experienced changes in its leadership, it remained peaceful as the leaders turned to the Quran for guidance.
Abang Johari also wanted Muslims in the state to co-exist harmoniously with people of other religions.
