MIRI: Pustaka Negeri Sarawak is set to host the ‘Bejalai Storytellers’ programme here on Sept 24 and 25, an enriching initiative involving kindergarten and primary school children from here, Niah, and Baram.
This year, the programme proudly features two international storytellers: Anna Manuel from Australia and Kak Budi Baik Budi from Indonesia.
Targeting children aged 4 to 12, the programme aims not only to promote library membership among the younger generation but also to inspire creativity in storytelling, foster a love for reading, and develop confidence and public speaking skills.
Six selected kindergarten and primary schools around Miri have been identified to participate in this exciting event.
“We hope that through this programme, children will understand the importance of continuously exploring, learning, and sharing their experiences with others,” said the Head of the Community Engagement Services Division Dorithy Dela Lawrence.
