KOTA SAMARAHAN: Residents of Kampung Mang Lot have urged the relevant authorities to monitor the increasing number of stray dogs roaming around the area.

One of the residents, Junaidi Hassan, expressed his concern over the situation.

“We have tried to drive away the dogs, but it was only effective for a short while.

“Although there have been no cases of villagers being attacked or bitten by these dogs, we are worried for our safety, especially for our small children.

“Not only that, since these dogs are roaming freely, it has affected the level of cleanliness and hygiene in our village as the dogs often dig into public bins,” he explained.

Junaidi also expressed concern for the village’s deteriorating environmental conditions because residents are worried that it will lead to the emergence of outbreaks or unwanted diseases.

He added that for now, the stray dogs are taking shelter in an empty house in the village.

Junaidi points at the empty house where the stray dogs are currently taking shelter in.
