The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has reported a strong earthquake occurring in the North Atlantic Ocean at 4.28am today (July 11).
The earthquake, measuring 6.4 magnitude, occurred at a depth of 10 kilometres at coordinates 20.0 degrees north, 61.1 degrees west, approximately 2,595 kilometres southeast of Washington, United States.
However, no tsunami threat has been issued for Malaysia following the earthquake.
