SIBU: Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Sibu leaders are supportive of their party’s Dudong branch chairman Wong Chin Yong to be the candidate for Dudong state seat in the coming state polls.
As an indication of unity and show of strong support to Wong Ching Yong, SUPP Sibu leaders carried out a joint site inspection at Rumah Ricky Akun of Mile 15, Jalan Oya Sibu which is situated in the Dudong constituency today.
The SUPP leaders who accompanied Wong were Senator Robert Lau Hui Yew of SUPP Bawang Assan branch, Datuk Chieng Buong Toon of SUPP Bukit Assek branch and chairman of Sibu Municipal Council and chairman of SUPP Pelawan branch Clarence Ting Ing Horh.
The residents of Rumah Ricky Akun and the surrounding longhouses had been requesting Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) for years to upgrade the road leading to SK Batu 15 and the surrounding longhouses.
SRDC recently called for a tender to upgrade the road and the tender has been awarded.
After the inspection, Wong made a short speech in the longhouse. He urged the residents to support him and GPS for the Dudong state seat. He promised to bring continuous development to the constituency.
