PADAWAN: Strong winds damaged the roofs and walls of four houses in Kampung Mambong and a house in Kampung Sikog at Jalan Mambong-Sikog-Sarig last Sunday (Oct 10).
Deputy Plantation and Commodity Minister Datuk Willie Mongin, in a Facebook post, said no injuries or casualties were reported as the victims managed to get out to safety.
Willie, who is also the Puncak Borneo MP, said his party had contacted the affected homeowners.
“My service centre’s officers and village chiefs will assess the damages in order for repair works to be carried out immediately.
“I am deeply saddened to receive news of such tragedy and I will do my best to help the victims,” he said, hoping that the victims would persevere and endure the ordeal.
Willie added he would be meeting the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) to apply for assistance for the victims.
