Commenting on the construction period of the base, Abdul Rahman said it will take one year to complete.

“In Kampung Sibu Laut and Kampung Sungai Aur, it took six months to complete. But this one (Pangkalan Sungai Pelaie) is bigger and as such, it takes about 12 months,” he said.

Abdul Rahman also said that at this time, the focus was on building the base first and other infrastructural facilities such as parking lots would be discussed in the future.
