KUCHING: A 17-year-old student died in the Sarawak General Hospital after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car along Kuching/Serian Road at 12.30am Friday.
The victim, Liew Yew Seng from Kampung Beratok, Mile 21, Kuching/Serian Road was ran over by a car driven by a businessman, surnamed Jong who was travelling from Kuching to Serian.
According to Jong, he was travelling on a straight lane when a motorcycle driven by Liew on his left side cut into his path to make a U turn.
He said he lost control of the car after running over the motorcycle and the victim and landed on a road divider.
The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital but died shortly after. Jong suffered injuries on his head and feet and was warded at the hospital for further treatment.
Police are investigating the case.
