BINTULU: A 19-year-old student succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment following an accident involving his motorcycle and a lorry tanker last Friday (May 7).
Sarawak Traffic Police chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu said the accident happened around 3pm when both vehicles were travelling in the same direction along Jalan Nyabau here.
The tanker driver, 45, was transporting diesel from Tanjung Kidurong to Belaga, prior to the crash.
“At the time of the incident, it was raining when the tanker collided into the victim’s motorcycle.
“The victim identified as Mohammad Zuladlee Abdul Rahman, suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Bintulu Hospital for immediate treatment,” he said.
However, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment in the emergency ward.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death due to reckless and dangerous driving.
