PADAWAN: A male student is feared to have drowned after he was found afloat in Sungai Cina, Matang yesterday (Dec 6).
The discovery was made at noon by a group of men who were having a picnic along the riverbank.
As soon as they spotted the boy, they quickly jumped into the waters to rescue the boy before alerting the authorities.
Moments later, paramedics arrived at the scene and performed CPR before taking him to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH).
It was made to understand that a team from the Sarawak Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK) was dispatched to the scene to conduct their investigation.
Padawan police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad, when contacted, said an official statement will be released soon.
