KUCHING: Students are encouraged to define their own success and be prepared for the challenges that come with either furthering their studies at higher levels or entering the workforce.
In stating this, Tupong assemblyman Fazzrudin Abdul Rahman, who is also the chief political secretary to the Premier, said that in studying or working life, the challenges are immense for everyone.
“I’m not going to sugarcoat it. This is how I speak to my children, and this is how I’m going to speak to you.
“No challenge is too small or too big, therefore you must find the ways by communicating openly with lecturers, bosses, parents, and colleagues to better understand and manage your issues,” he said.
He said this while speaking during the Indian Association Kuching (IAK) Education Achievers Award 2023 at IAK Hall here on Sunday.
The event celebrated the academic excellence of eight Indian students in their recent Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination.
On a related note, Fazzrudin also encouraged the students to expand their mindsets and focus on resolving problems and moving forward.
“Your seniors and veteran generation have succeeded in overcoming challenges and serve as inspiration for today’s youth.
“They succeeded, and that is why they are doing this today: to ensure that our children continue to succeed, becoming successful individuals who bring success to their parents, families, state, and country,” he added.
Fazzrudin also said that the students should be confident with the unwavering support from various associations including the state government.
“If you are Sarawakian, we will be rooting for you. If you are Malaysian, we will be rooting for you. And God willing, you will be the future leaders,” he said.
