BINTULU: The village development and security committee (JKKK) of Kampung Masjid Jepak today held a Back-to-School programme for children out of concern for parents who are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
During the programme, a total of 55 students from underprivileged families were provided with school bags and stationeries in an effort to ease the burden of their respective parents.
Due to the conditional movement control order (CMCO) being implemented in the area, distributions were done in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) through house-to-house delivery conducted by JKKK Kampung Masjid Jepak led by its chairman, Norlee Bakar.
The Back-To-School programme initiative was also supported by Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office (Integrity and Ombudsman) cum Jepak assemblyman Datuk Talib Zulpilip through an allocation of RM10,000 under the minor rural project (MRP) funds for the committee’s activities.
Talib hoped that the donation would ease the burden of families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
He also called on all parties to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of physical distancing and abide by guidelines set by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) and the Health Ministry (MOH).
