KUCHING: Students and teachers of SK Jalan Ong Tiang Swee here were advised to take extra care, especially during the current hot weather.

“Teachers are grateful they now can wear sportswear due to the hot weather. For the students, I reminded them to take extra care,” Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii, who visited the school, said.

“It is important to limit their outdoor activities to avoid being exposed to high temperatures, stay hydrated often and to seek treatment immediately if they exhibit symptoms of heat stroke,” he said in a Facebook post.

During his visit, Dr Yii also presented an allocation of RM5,000 to the school to be used for its activities.

“I also listened to the issues faced by teachers and students.”
