KUCHING: SMK Agama Tun Ahmad Zaidi won the top two places in the Innovation of Solid Waste Management Plan competition’s public category.

Its team TUNAZ brought back RM1,500 and RM1,000 respectively and the third prize of RM500 was won by JKKK Taman Vista Ilmu.

Meanwhile the IPT category was won by Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), followed by UiTM Sarawak branch

“The prize giving ceremony will be held on Dec 16 at Summer Mall, Kota Samarahan in conjunction with its Sarawak Food and Cultural Festival Programme,” a press release said.

The competition was organised by Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (MPKS) jointly with UiTM Sarawak Branch on Dec 10.

“The purpose of this programme was to collect participant feedback, comments, and ideas for improving the present waste management system,” it said.

This competition drew 35 participants from 14 teams, consisting of eight teams from the higher education category and six teams from the public category.
