MALUDAM: The completion of SK Maludam’s new building on an eight-acre plot of land funded by the Sarawak government has delighted the students and families alike.
The project manifests the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government’s sensitivity to the needs of education in rural areas.
The new school building is equipped with 18 classrooms, two dormitory blocks capable of accommodating 200 students and teachers’ quarters, in addition to various other facilities.
It began construction in March, 2019.
NUR FIKRI JAMALUDDIN, Teacher
STUDENTS can learn more effectively in a conducive school environment. I was overjoyed when the lengthy wait was rewarded with a meaningful “gift” from the Sarawak government – a beautiful and welcoming school. As teachers, this motivates us to work harder to educate the nation’s children.
MOHD SHAHARINI HIPNI, Senior Assistant
I am overjoyed since I have been here since 2016, despite the fact that the school has been in disrepair throughout that time. I am proud of the Sarawak government’s initiative. My aim is that this new school building will maximize student success.
MUHAMMAD SYAHIR ISMAIL, Student
I’m overjoyed to have a new school. The old school was tough, especially because the educational facilities were damaged. But, Alhamdulillah, everything is new now. May SK Maludam prosper by gaining even greater success.
AWANG TAIB AWANG MOSTAPHA, head of Kampung Tengah Maludam
When the children of Kampung Maludam can use the new school, we give 1,000 thanks. The old school was dreadful and we had hoped for a new one for a long time. Thank you to the Sarawak government and the people’s representatives for elevating the people’s voice.
Halimah Aseng, mother
I am really excited for the children of Kampung Maludam to begin attending the brand-new school. Abang Johari deserves credit. In comparison to earlier, there is now no cause for concern. We used to be concerned about the main issue of the school area being flooded, which is pretty dangerous.
