MUKAH: Students Bronica Bida Chundau, Qurratu Ain Manshor and Sofi-Syahirah Shobian Fadzal won the Overall Champions Award at Politeknik Mukah’s Innovation Competition and Exhibition (PICE) 2021/2022 Session 1 here recently.
Their winning project was titled Aplikasi Penempatan Kamsis Mahasiswa. They were guided by Mohamad Shafiq Mohamad Nasaruddin from the Commerce Department.
The trio took home the PICE Challenge trophy, certificates and RM300.
For Politeknik Mukah (PMU) staff category, Dr Habsah Mohd Sabli, Dr Chen Wong Keong, Ts (Technologist) Dr Muhammad Sufyan Safwan Mohamad Basir and Ts Dr Bong Siaw Wee won the Gold Award.
Their winning project was titled “PMU Internal Factor Analysis of Research, Innovation & Commercialization Unit (UPIK)”.
The categories involved in PICE Session 1: 2021/2022 were Best Innovation Award for engineering and non-engineering students; Best Research Award for students and staff; Gold, Silver and Bronze Award; Best Poster Award (students category); and the student’s Overall Champions Award.
The top three winners in each category received RM200, RM150 and RM100 respectively.
PMU deputy director (academic) Iskandar Reduan said PICE was aimed at giving an opportunity to the students to apply what they had learned, and also to enable the final year students to generate knowledge and creativity holistically.
He added that it also provided a platform for lecturers to exhibit and present their innovations.
“The programme also provided an avenue for PMU to collaborate with the industries and agencies, in terms of sharing knowledge, skills and experience.”
