KUCHING: Stutong Community Market will reopen to the public this Sunday (Aug 2) after it was temporarily closed on July 18.
Kuching City South Council (MBKS) said to prepare for the reopening, the council and Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) would jointly carry out disinfection and sanitation works at the market on Aug 1 at 2pm.
“This is one of the many measures undertaken to curb the spread of Covid-19,” MBKS said in a statement today (July 31).
The council also reminded business owners to strictly adhere to the safety standard operating procedures (SOPs).
“For the public, please look after your personal hygiene, wear face masks when you are out in public places, practise social distancing, frequent hand washing, use hand sanitiser and avoid crowded places whenever possible,” it said.
Stutong Market was instructed to close after two positive Covid-19 cases were reported there on July 18.
