KUCHING: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) leadership at sub-branches plays a crucial role in ensuring the survival of the party, asserted PBB vice president Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi.
He said the strength and stability of the state administration is only guaranteed by both strong and stable support from the leadership at the grassroots level.
Hence, leaders at PBB sub-branches have to be on their toes and prepare for the upcoming state election.
“When we agreed to be part of the sub-branch, it means we also agreed to take care of the party, which we inherited from the previous generation of leaders.
“As the newer generation, we need to play a role to ensure that the party remains protected,” he said when officiating at a dialogue session at Kampung Santubong on Friday night.
Dr Abdul Rahman who is also Pantai Damai assemblyman said the opportunity given to lead the party at the sub-branch level needed to be shouldered responsibly.
Meanwhile, he also said that PBB Pantai Damai was ready to face the upcoming state election.
“As soon as the chief minister (Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg) dissolves the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) and announces the date of the election, our leaders at the branch and sub-branches must be ready.
“Most of our leaders are still fresh from facing the last general election in 2018. This is important, but what is also important is that we must constantly interact with leaders at the branch and sub-branch levels.
“This is to ensure that all of our actions are in line with the mould that we have to work within,” he said.
