MIRI: The water level rose in Subis District following excessive rain since Monday night (Oct 31).

The Civil Defence Force (APM) here reported that at least four primary schools were flooded while one of the roofs of a longhouse, Rh Sana Labu, was damaged by strong winds.

It was reported that the incident occurred around 8pm. The longhouse is occupied by seven residents. The four schools are SK Kampung Tegageng, SK Rumah Mentali, SK Kampung Iran and SK Rumah Tinggi.

According to Miri APM officer Lt (PA) Mirwan Shah Masri, the water level increased from 30cm to 55cm as of 8.30am, Tueday (Nov 1).

However, no evacuation has been carried out yet and no temporary evacuation centre has been activated as the situation remains under control.
